MRS. WILLIAM BRANDT
Edna Bard Brandt, 87, 55 S. Second St., a registered nurse, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 25, 1981, at the Shook Home for the Aged. She was born April 15, 1894, in Mifflin County, the daughter of Alfred A. and Matilda Briggs Bard. She was married to William Foster Brandt, who preceded her in death in 1947. She was a graduate of the Joseph Price Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, and was formerly employed at The Chambersburg Hospital, Huntingdon Hospital and Lewistown Hospital. She also worked in private nursing for a number of years. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star 280 in Mt. Union. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Goldberry, Glendora, Calif.; Mrs. Bruce (Evelyn) Secrest, Mt. Union; Mrs. Karl (Jean) Hoelzle, Callwell, Idaho, and Lois Brand, 255 Martin Ave.; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Heman Bard, Newton Hamilton, and a sister, Mrs. Dessie Faust, Harrisburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, conducted by the Rev. Charles L. Rummel. Burial will be in the Mt. Union IOOF Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. until the service Saturday. There will be an Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
