Walter Ernest Watford, 65, of Pensacola, FL died Thursday evening in a local hospital.

Mr. Watford was born in Frisco City, AL, but lived in Pensacola for many years. He was a veteran of World War II and a recipient of two purple hearts. He retired from civil service NAS, Pensacola after 30 years of service. He was a charter member of the Brent Recreation Association and was actively involved for over 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Allie Mae Watford; four daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Gerald Wiggins, Diane and John Banks, Hilda and Larry Cornelius, Wanda and John Peebles; a son and daughter-in-law, Buck and Pam Watford; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby Philipp, Frances Goodman, Viola Lofton, Genolden Enfinger, Martha Miller, a brother Buddy Watford.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday, April 6, at Faith Chapel with the Rev. Earl Hall and Rev. John Walter Hunt officiating.

Burial will be in Oliver Pugh Cemetery with Faith Chapel directing.

Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
