A native of Upper Marlboro, he came to Baltimore in 1900. His longest period of employment was the 42 years he spent as foreman at Archer's Laundry.
Prior to his retirement in 1949, he worked about 10 years as a salesman for Bachrach Rasin Sporting Goods. He was active in church work throughout his life.
Besides the Monsignor, survivors include another son, H. Laird Roeder, and two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Bradford and Mrs. A. Dolores Schultz.
