C. E. Davis, 72, of Clinton Rt. 2, died Monday at 3:30 a.m. at the home of his son, Bill Davis of Mohawk after a long illness. Mr. Davis, a farmer from Greene County, had lived near Clinton since the death of his wife.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Anderson of Clinton, Mrs. Stella Brotherton of Gap Creek, Mrs. Sue Morelock of Kingsport; two sons, J.B. Davis of Clinton and Bill Davis of Mohawk; two sisters. Mrs. Molly Britton of Greene County and Mrs. Mae Smith of Beloit, Kan.; one brother, T. E. R. Davis of Greene County; 15 grandchildren,and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the pastor and the Rev. Paris Malone officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery. Cox of Lake City was in charge.
