Joseph Lindsly was a son of original Newark, New Jersey settlers, Francis Lindsly and Susannah (Culpepper). Joseph was born in Newark nine years after settlement commenced. His parents having arrived with the original group of settlers from Milford CT, Francis Lindsly being the 16th signatory of the Fundamental Agreement of 1666.

1. Mary Riggs, dau of Edward and Mary was the wife of Joseph, they had one son, Joseph, Jr., Joseph is the brother of John Lindsly, Sr. #38842356.
2. The three John's are John LIndsly, Jr. #12277408, son of John Lindsly Sr. #38842356.
3. Demas is the son of John, Jr. #12277408
4. Daniel in #12277266, is brother of John Jr. #12277408
5. Ebenezer, Benjamin Daniel and Mary, I could not identify or connect to the others.
6. Elizabeth Freeman was not the wife of Joseph. She was the second wife of John Lindsly, Sr. #38842356. Her memorial is 12238827.
