Edward K. Gilliland
Edward K. GILLILAND, 77, R.R. 3, Rochester, died at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday in the Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne. He had been a patient since September, 1971.
Born Nov. 21, 1894, in Tiosa, he was the son of Arley and Emma WADE GILLILAND. His marriage was Sept. 16, 1920, in St. Joseph, Mich., to Gladys D. WELCH, who survives. He was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a retired employee of the Fulton County Highway department and a member of the Trinity United Methodist church, F&AM 79, RAM 90, World War Barracks 479. He was a veteran of World War I.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Doris) SIXBEY, and one son, James M. [GILLILAND], both of Rochester; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. One sister and one brother preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Revs. Morris HOWE and V. Leroy GARNER will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the F&AM will conduct memorial services at 8 p.m. Friday. The family has requested that memorials other than flowers be made to a favorite charity or to the Cancer Fund.
