Doris Mae SIXBEY, 81, Life Care Center of Rochester formerly of 183 Pontiac Street, Rochester, died at 3:50 a.m. Friday at Life Care Center. She had been in failing health for the past five years.
Born to Edward and Gladys WELCH GILLILAND in Rochester, she was a long time resident in the Rochester area. She married Robert Warren SIXBEY on December 28, 1940, in Frankfort. He survives.
She was a former employee of the Torin Corp., formerly of Rochester, where she had worked for 26 years. She also had worked for Wal-Mart of Rochester.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Rochester, and the Evergreen Rebekah Lodge, also of Rochester, where she had been a member for over 50 years.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Roger SIXBEY, Orlando, Fla., and Michael SIXBEY and wife Karen, Rochester; one grandson, Shanon Michael SIXBEY, Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Cassie SIXBEY, Indianapolis; and one brother, Jim GILLILAND and wife Betty, Fort Wayne.
Preceding in death were her parents.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with Rev. Bill MOON officiating. Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday or one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. Burial will be at Rochester Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester.
