Mary E. Aker, age 91, of Foley, died Tuesday July 20, 2004 at the Foley Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Graham United Methodist Church, rural Rice. The Rev. Duane Lookingbill will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and 1 hour before services at church.
Mary Aker was born August 20, 1912 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Charles and Naomi (Slaven) Kuschel. Her family moved to Buckman when she was young and lived in that area until she married Oscar Aker September 20, 1931 at the Dixeville Lutheran Church, rural Buckman. They lived and farmed in Graham Twp., Benton County until retiring in 1986. She moved to Foley in 1988. She was a member of Graham United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Donald & Jan, Moundsview; Arnold & Cecile, Park Rapids; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a brother, Morris Kuschel, Sebeka and a sister, Ruth Wilson, Tucson, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, April 11, 1986, 3 sisters and a brother.
Memorials are preferred to the Cancer Society.
