Irene Taylor, Sayre Resident 90 Years, Dies

Mrs. Irene Bennett Taylor, 97, of 520 W. Lockhart St., Sayre, died Friday, July 7, 1972, at the Bradford Manor following a long illness.
Born in Wilkes-Barre the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nellie Kettle Bennett, she had resided in Sayre for the past 90 years.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Church of the Redeemer in Sayre and was one of its oldest communicants. She had sung in the church choir for many years and had taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Episcopal Women's Club and of the Sayre Monday Club.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Sophie Bennett of Rochester, and several cousins.
Friends may call at the Kolb-Allgeier Funeral Home, 126 N. Elmer Ave., Sayre, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral and committal services, will be held at the Church of the Redeemer Monday at 10 a.m.
Rev. Albert F. Greene, rector of the church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Taylor Memorial Fund of the Church of Redeemer.
