Mrs. Ellen Bennett Called By Death

Mrs. Ellen J. Bennett, a pioneer resident of Sayre, passed away last night midnight at her home, 212 S. Keystone avenue, after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Bennett, who was in her 88th year, had resided in Sayre for nearly sixty years, coming to Sayre when it was a small village.
She was the surviving child of the late Stephen Young and Sophia Ann (Snell) Kittle, early settlers in Wilkes-Barre. Her husband, the late B. Frank Bennett died thirty-seven years ago.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Church of the Redeemer and a charter member of Sayre charter, Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. William L. Taylor, Mrs. Emilie D. Parliment, Mrs. Berton N. Genung, Miss Sophia M. Bennett, three sons, J.K. Bennett, Ellwood F. Bennett, and Dee W. Bennett.
Services will be held at her late home, 212 S. Keystone avenue, Sayre, Friday morning at 10:30. Burial will be in the family plot in Tioga Point cemetery.
