Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church this (Friday) morning for Morie Brent, who died at his home on Highland Avenue about six o'clock Tuesday morning following a cerebral stroke which he suffered a week previously. The service was conducted by the Rev. D.K. Foster, former pastor of the church, and the Rev. Floyd V. Brower. Burial was in Maple Cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company in charge.
Mr. Brent was born March 7, 1879, and was aged 73 years, 6 months and 23 days. He had lived in Caruthersville for many years, and had long been active in the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie Brent; a son, Albert Brent of Baton Rouge, La.; and three daughters, Mrs. Floyd Barnhart of this city, Mrs. Gilbert Conn of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Daile Kiegley of Balboa, Panama Canal Zone.
