Mrs. Fannie G. Brent, 75, resident of Caruthersville for many years, died Wednesday, April 17, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for ten days.
Mrs. Brent was born October 12, 1881 at Martin, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Jeffress and had lived most of her adult life in this city. She was active in the work of the Baptist church as long as her health permitted and was a past matron of the local Eastern Star chapter, of which she had been a member for many years.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Barnhart of this city, Mrs. Dorothy Conn of Washington D.C., and Mrs. Elizabeth Keigley of Balboa, Canal Zone; one son, B. Albert Brent, of Baton Rouge, Ia.; three brothers, W.P., S.F. and Irvin R. Jeffress all of Fulton, Ky. and several grandchildren. Her husband, Morrie Brent, passed away Septebmer 30, 1952.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist church, with the Rev. Guy Magee officiating. Burial was in Maple cemetery with LaForge Undertaking Company service.
