Catherine Jane McKinnon Braddy was born 15 July 1827 the daughter of R Daniel McKinnon and Ella Reaves. She married Tristram Bethea Braddy in South Carolina. She and Tristram were parents of John Braddy, Daniel Braddy, Alice Braddy, Aldolpho Braddy, and Lewton Capers Braddy. She was 34 when she died 18 July 1861 leaving Tristram a widowed husband. She is buried in Sweat Swamp Cemetery in Dillon county South Carolina.
