Roy F. Lasswell, 100, St. marys, died Wednesday May 23, 1990 at a Topeka hospital.

Mr. Lasswell farmed north of Emmett 45 years before he retired in 1957 and moved to St. Marys.

He was born December 12, 1889, north of St. clere in Jackson County, the sone of Harvey A. and Mary Graham Lasswell. He attended Kansas State Agricultural College in Manhattan when Anderson Hall was the only building on campus. He later was graduated from a Salina business college.

Mr. lasswell was a member of the former Masonic lodge in Emmett. He served many years on the board of Grandview Grade School north of Emmett.

He was married to Agnes Rezac December 25, 1911 in Topeka. She died May 20, 1989.

SUrvivors include two daughters, Irene Davis, Rossville, and Lottie Lucas, Topeka; two half-sisters, Bessie Lunger, Summerfield and Beatrice Pine, Manhattan; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Servcies were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vershelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial was in St. Clere cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in St. Marys, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Note: In early 1990 Roy Lasswell was one of only two Kansans over the age of 100 to hold a valid driver's license. He was the subject of a feature article in the Topeka Capital newspaper.
