Clyde M. lasswell, 61, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoonMarch 16, 1957 at his farm home north of Emmett, KS. He was a county commissioner of the 3rd district and prominent stockman and farmer. Mr. Lasswell suffered a heart attack. He had been under a physician's care for some time.

Mr. Lasswell was born Dec. 10, 1896 in St. Clere. Ks. and has lived his entire life in this community.

Mr. Lasswell attended the Emmett Methodist CHurch. He was a member of the Emmett High School board for the last 20 years, member of the Pottawatomie county commissioners for 7 years, member of the Board of Directors of the Farmers Union Central Cooperation of St. Marys for 8 years, member of the Kansas Livestock Association, of the St. Marys Chamber of Commerce and of the Emmett Lions Club.

Mr. Lasswell lay in state at the Vershelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, Kansas. Funeral servcies were at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Emmett Methodist Church, Emmett, Kansas with Rev. Paul H. Kapp officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Davis of Osage City, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Lasswell, of the home. Two sons, Marion and Gene of Emmett, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Bett of Topeka and Mrs. Robert Myers of Overland Park, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Romeny Ketterman and Mrs. Fred Lunger of Summerfield, Kansas and Mrs. Wilfred Pine of Manhattan, Kansas; two brothers, Fred of Emmett and Roy of St. Marys, Kansas. One son, Harvey, preceded him in death in 1948.
