HERMAN RAHL DIES AT 81; SERVICES SET

Herman Gustave Rahl, 81, of Route 1, Eden, died at 1:40 p.m. Monday at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born Feb. 19, 1890 in Germany, a son of Karl and Bertha Hilke Rahl. He married Martha Krueger and she preceded him in death on March 1, 1934.

Mr. Rahl was employed at the Fred Rueping Leather Co. for over 20 years and later worked for the Fond du Lac Stone Co. and the Eden Stone Co. He was a veteran of World War I during which he served with the U.S. Army.

Surviving are two sons, Herman B. Rahl and Wayne D. Rahl both of the city; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Snyder and Mrs. Arnold Rost both of Route 1, Eden; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Roehl of Princeton and William Rahl of the city, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Prellwitz of Ripon.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Rahl was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Koehler officiating. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
