Ruth Helen Herridge was the beloved daughter of James Walter and Eva Huston Herridge. She was born August 8th 1921 in Harper County, Storhville Township near Bluff City, Kansas. Ruth was the third child of eight. She had two brothers and five sisters ~ Jennie Herridge, Bessie (Wilmarth), Dorothy E. Herridge (little Dorothy died when she was 2 years old), Maurice Herridge, Juanita (Hudson), Almeta (Huntley Fortmeyer), and baby Cecil died at birth with their Mama Eva.
Ruth was the beloved wife of Loran Estes Snyder, they were blessed with one son ~ Larry. Ruth attended country school and the graduated from Bluff City High School in 1941. Ruth married Loran Estes Snyder, May 28, 1941 in Anthony, Kansas. They lived most of their married life in Liberal, Kansas. After the death of her husband in 1974, she lived in Boger, Texas for two years to be near her son and family. In 1976 she moved to Caldwell, Kansas and worked at Leisure Center. In 1977-78 she attended Vocational Technical School in Wichita, Kansas. She became a Food Service Supervisor at Leisure Center where she worked until retiring. Later she moved to the Servant Living Center in Medford, Oklahoma. She was a cancer survivor.
