He was born in New Holstein on May 13, 1911, son of the late Herman and Emma Mentzel Duesterhoeft. He attended New Holstein grade and high schools, graduating in 1929.
Mr. Duesterhoeft was a draftsman at the Lauson Engine Division of Tecumseh Products, Inc., for 34 years, retiring in 1975.
He was married to Martina Hartman August 17, 1937 in Milwaukee.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Donald of Reading, Pa., Robert of San Mateo, Calif., Carl of Neenah, and Thomas at home; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Sabo of Racine, and Mrs. (Carol) Clausen of Milltown; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services were at Erbe-Evjen Funeral Home in New Holstein. The Rev. Albert K. Borns, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in New Holstein City Cemetery.
