He was the son of Harry Roy Baker and Marie Adeline (Boring) Baker

Services for Martin L Baker Sr of Flinton, who died Dec 20, 1985 in the Altoona Hospital, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Donald J. Gibbons Funeral Home,Coalport. Interment will be in the Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton. Born Jan 2, 1925 in Flnton, Mr Baker was a son of Harry Roy and Maria A (Boring) Baker. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Finney; three sons: Martin L Jr, James A, and David L, all of Flinton, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs David (Syllvia) Gates, Mrs Paul (Orveda) Weakland, Jack, aand Harry R. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son; one brother, George, and one sister, Ettie Kruise. Mr Baker, a retired coal miner, was the owner of Baker's Service Statin in Flinton. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Frugality. (Clearfield Progress, Dec 21, 1985)
