Johan P. Krog

Servies were held at 2 p.m. at Diamond Lake Church, Lake Benton Tuesday, May 19th, 1970 for Johan P. Krog, who passed away from heart failure in his home shortly after noon Saturday, May 16th.

Pastor Arley Fadness officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Roy Yonker, Merle Hanson, Harlan Meyer, Wm. Truckenmiller, Carl Tambo and Walter Mitchell. Flowers were taken care of by Christine Jorgensen and Martha Mitchell.

Interment was in Diamond Lake Cemetery.

Johan Peter Krog, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens H. Krog, was born in Diamond Lake Township April 14th, 1888. He was baptized and confirmed in the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, of which he was a member, until joining with ALC in Lake Benton. March 29th, 1916 he was united in marriage to Hanne Thomsen in the Christian Ries home in Marshfield Township. To this union five children were born, of which four sons survive, Norman of Middleport, N.Y., Arnold, Howard and Leon, all of Lake Benton. Johan was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1947. From that time on he lived in Lake Benton. He served on the school board of Dist. 16, church board, assessor of Diamond Lake township and later for Lake Benton village and was Lincoln County weed inspector for six years.

He had attained the age of 82 years and 1 month.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Hanne; four sons; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Chris Marck (Dagmar) of New Port Richey, Florida; Mrs. Fred Bisballe (Marie) of Royal Oak, Michigan; three brothers, Hans and Jorgen of Lake Benton and Walter of Royal Oak Michigan. He was preceded in death by his little daughter Margaret Ann, his parents and four brothers.
