He was born in Hamlet, Ind. on September 15, 1895, the son of the late James F. and Hattie Bowman and came to Pemiscot county with his parents when he was a small boy. He attended the county and local schools and on December 22, 1940, in this city, was married to Mrs. Allie Green. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Howard Ray officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allie Bowman of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Russell Pollock of Hensley, Ark. and Mrs. Maud Costello of El Monte, Calif.
