The deceased was born at Marion, Ind., December 4, 1870, being at the time of his death, aged 66 years, 7 months and 8 days. He came to Missouri when a young man, moving to Caruthersville in 1910, where he has resided since, following the occupation of painter and interior decorator up to the time his ill health prevented him from engaging in the work.
He is survived by his widow, and five children, four daughters, Mrs. Ida French, Long Beach, Cal., Mrs. Maude Costello of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Iva Tillman and Mrs. Gertrude Pollack of this city and one son, John Wesley Bowman of Los Angeles. In addition to his immediate family, he is also survived by two brothers, Jesse and William Bowman who reside at Louisville, Ky., and Gas City, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Endsley of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Frank ? of Gas City, Ind.
Services were held at the Smith funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W.L. Meyer, in the absence of Rev. D.K. Foster, pastor of the Baptist Church, of which Mr. Bowman had beea a member for many years. Interment was made in Maple cemetery.
