Weaver--Mrs. Sarah Johnston Weaver was born in Fermanagh county, Ireland, Oct 8, 1844, and died at her home in Reynolds, Ill., Jan 30, 1903, after a brief illness with pneumonia. When five years old she came to this country with her parents and was reared to womanhood in Mercer county, Ill., where she was married to her now bereft husband, William Weaver, Dec. 17, 1874. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver spent all of their married life in and around Reynolds, Ill., except six years in Nebraska. To them five children were born; one son died in infancy. Three daughters, Mrs. Fred Schlueter of Reynolds, Ill., Mrs. G. H. Vanatta of West Liberty, Iowa., Miss Elizabeth J., and son Harvey of Reynolds were present at their mother's bedside to cheer and comfort her in the dying hour. Mrs. Weaver was converted and united with the M.E. (Methodist) church in Alexandria, Nebraska, and on Jan. 24, 1897, was received by letter into the M.E. church at Reynolds, Ill., where she retained her membership until called to the church triumphant. She was a true and faithful wife, a loving and devoted mother, and as a result of that life, "Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praiseth her." Funeral services were conducted at the M.E. church in Reynolds on Sunday at eleven o'clock, Rev. G. W. Peregoy officiating, assisted by Rev. Smith. Interment was made in the Reynolds cemetery. A number of very pretty floral pieces lay on the casket and the altar rail and pulpit were appropriately trimmed for the occasion. The church was more than filled with the many friends who had gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased.
