Martha was born in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut on April 22, 1750. She was the daughter of John and Rachel Robbins Stillman. About 1768, she married Thomas Turner Tilden, possibly in Sandisfield, Berkshire, Massachusetts. Martha and Thomas had twelve children born in Sandisfield between 1769 and 1790. Sometime after 1790, they moved west, to Avon, Livingston, New York. Martha died there in 1812. Her place of burial is unknown. Thomas died in Burns, Allegany County, New York, in 1832.
