Funeral services for Mrs. Martin (Elsie E.) Stein were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Luthern Church in Decatur, with burial in Salem cemetery.
Mrs. Stein, 77, of 1455 North Walnut Grove Avenue, Decatur, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 30th in her home. She was a member of St. Paul's Luthern Church, the Retired Mail Carriers Auziliary and the Ladies Aid of St. Paul's Church.
She was born June 30th, 1889, in Decatur, a daughter of Joseph and Virginia Stevens Austin. Her first husband, Elmer Hazelrigg, died in 1949. She was then married to Martin Stein in 1952. He died in 1962.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alvien (Laura) Jones, Decatur; Mrs. James (Dorothy) Goodballet, Mooreland, of Oklahoma; one brother, J.S. Austin, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Augusta) Martin, Decatur; Mrs. Polly Moore, Macon; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One son, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
