Mrs. Virginia Austin, widow of Joseph Austin, died at 10:45 oclock Thursday night at the home of her son, J.S. Austin, eight miles southwest of Decatur. She would have been sixty sixty years old in September. She had been in failing health for a long time.
Mrs.Austins maiden name was Virginia Stevens. Shes born in Macon county Sept. 22,1860. she was twice married. Her first husband was William Owens. They were married in 1878.She and Joseph Austin were married in 1886. He died thirteen years ago. She was a member of Blue Mound chapel.
She is survived by the following children, Frank Owens of Galesburg, Mrs.Elsie Mullivans, Mrs. Aususta Martin, Mrs. Polly Moore, J.S .Austin and Thomas Austin of Decatur and two step daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Bough of Indiana and Mrs.Minnie Jones of Decatur. She also leaves four sisters,Mrs. Mollie Schieffer of Chicago,Mrs.Lora Warnick of Mt.Auburn, Mrs.Emma Hill of Jasper, Mo, and Mrs. Hattie Warnick of Decatur. There are twelve grandchildren and nine step grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 oclock Sunday afternoon at the Salem church.
