DURAN--Tony L. Duran Sr., age 70, passed away in T. or C., New Mexico on Sunday. Mr. Duran was a lifetime resident of New Mexico and was a member of the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Mr. Duran was a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades. He worked for the Zia Company in Los Alamos from 1950-1960. He was a member of the C.C.C. Forestry. In WWII Mr. Duran captured the German Flag in Ancio, Italy which is now in our Museum. Mr. Duran was preceded in death by his son, Antonio L. Buddy Duran Jr.; and sister, Annie Romero. He is survived by his wife Lucy Duran; sons, Larry R. Duran and wife Judy of Albuquerque, Jerry Duran and wife Maureen of Omaha, Neb., Kevin Duran and wife Wendi of Colorado; and daughter-in-law, Donna Duran of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandy Herrera and husband Anthony J. of Albuquerque; brothers, Lee, Ernest, Frank and Manuel Duran; sister Josie Romero; and 13 grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited Thursday from the Chapel of Crestview at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday where a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church.
