DURAN, Peter 61 - A life long resident of Santa Fe passed away suddenly in Santa Fe Tuesday Jan. 30th. Mr. Duran was born March 8, 1926 to Juan T. And Catarina Duran. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and attended Highlands University. He worked for the State Engineer's Office for 25 years and worked for the city of Santa Fe for 3 years before retiring in 1984. Mr. Duran was a member of the V.F.W. post #2951. He is survived by his brothers: Frank Duran and wife Mary of Santa Fe; Victor Duran of Santa Fe; Dan Duran and wife Mary Ellen of Chambersberg., PA; Sisters; Roberta Gonzales and husband Soloman; Stephine Salazar and husband Alex; Evelyn Rivera and husband Ray; Ida Chavez; Aunt Mary Pacheco and a very close friend Marina Benavidez of Albuquerque; Marina's children and extended family who he considered his second family. Also many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday January 31st at 3:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be tentatively scheduled at 1:00 p.m. at St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Santa FE National Cemetery with full Military Honors at Grave side. Arraignments through Berardinelli Mortuary, 1399 Luisa Street, 98304331.
