DURAN, CATARINA G. - 83. A prominent resident of Santa Fe for the past forty-six year, died late Tuesday, November 8, 1983, following a brief illness. Before moving to Santa Fe she was a resident of San Ildefonso, New Mexico. She was a Mother and a Homemaker. She is survived by her sons, Peter Duran of Santa Fe, Frank Duran (wife Mary) of Santa Fe, Victor Duran and Dan Duran (wife, Maryellen) of Chambersburg, PA., her daughters, Roberta Gonzales (husband Solomon) of Santa Fe, Stephie Salazar (Husband, Ray of Santa Fe and Ida Chavez of Santa fe, her sisters, Mary Pacheco (husband, Ignacio) of Santa Fe, and Eloisa Valdez of Pueblo, Colorado, twenty seven (27) grandchildren and six (6) Great-Grandchildren, and numerous other relative dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan T. Duran who was a Veteran of WWI. She was also preceded in death by her two sons, Juan de la Cruz Duran and Jose A Duran. The Parish Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Parish. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated Thursday. November 10, 1983, at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Parish. Burial followd in Santa Fe National Cemetery next to her husband Juan T Duran. Pallbearers were Michael S. Duran, Phillip Salazar, Raymond Rivera, Anthony Duran, Arcy Duran, Donald Chavez and Jonathon Eric Duran. Honorary Pallbearers named by the family are, Ray Rivera, Alex Salazar, Solomon Gonzales, Jerry Prez, Gilbert Duran, Vicente Martinez, Facundo Sanchez and Louie Gonzales. The family would prefer contributions to the Carmelle Monastery, Mt. Carmel Road, Santa Fe. New Mexico 87501, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are through McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary & Crematory, 1320 Luisa Street, Santa Fe. Telephone No. 983-9151.
