Abraham married Mary Walden on 25 May 1834 in Bloomington, where their first child, James, was born in 1835. Shortly after his birth, the Wagamans set off for Randolph County, Missouri with some of Mary's family.
Abraham and Mary had 3 more children in Randolph County before moving to Carroll County, Missouri in 1846. The last of their 5 children was born there. A blacksmith by trade, Abraham established a farm in Hurricane Township.
When he died, Abraham was 51 years, 5 months and 9 days old. He was survived by his wife, Mary; his mother; 3 sons; and 2 daughters.
After Abraham's death, 2 of his sons fought in the Civil War. James Jefferson Wagaman served from 1862-1863 with the 35th Regiment of the Missouri Militia in Company D. Thomas Harrison Wagaman served in the army from 1862-1863 with the 35th Regiment, Company D and also in the 4th Regiment, Company E.
Abraham's wife, Mary, died in 1906.
