Aleen Wattleworth, 96, of Yale, died at 9 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2009, at Lakeland Rehab and Health Care Center, Effingham.

Funeral services will at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup. Burial will be at Yale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wattleworth was born on Oct. 13, 1912, in Yale, the daughter of Sylvanus and Nellie (Meeker) Huddlestun. She married Karl Wattleworth on Dec. 21, 1935. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Mrs. Wattleworth was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family and was known for her great pies. She was also a member of the Grand Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (John) Kruze of Upland, Calif. and Nancy (Ken) Nichols of Yale; grandchildren, Kevin (Ali) Kruze of Upland, Calif, Karla Kruze of Covina, Calif, and Jeff Nichols of Mattoon; great-grandchildren, Jack, Claire and Ava Kruze; and sister, Gladys Darr of Casey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bruce and Ernest; and granddaughter, Jennifer Nichols Draves.
