Richard Dennis "Dick" Klenke, 75, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at his home in Union. He was born August 21, 1923, in Union, the son of of the late Frank Klenke and wife Anna, nee Fees. He received his schooling in Union.
Mr. Klenke served his country in the United States Navy from April 1945 until July 1946.
On November 10, 1984, he was united in marriage to Celeste Peirick at St. Mary's Church, Villa Ridge. The couple made their home in Union. Mr. Klenke was a lifelong resident of Union and worked the family farm.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and a 50-year member of the Western Catholic Union.
Mr. Klenke was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Gilbert Klenke, and by one sister, Helen Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Celeste Klenke, Union; four sisters, Wilma Huvendick, Union, Leola Schackman, St. Louis, Anita Straatmann, Labadie, and Marcella "Sally" Bolzenius, Beaufort; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 14, at Oltmann Funeral Home, Union, a Mass following at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. Peter Blake officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
The Klenke family was served by Oltman Funeral Home, Union.
