James Franklin Taylor died at his home on the River Road on Tuesday, January 18, at 12:30 p m. Mr. Taylor had been in failing health for some time.

He was a native of Jackson County and was the son of the late Calvin and Martha Nobles Taylor.

In 1928 he moved to Moss Point from Pascagoula and prior to his residence there he had lived in Biloxi. Mr. Taylor operated a dairy farm until ill health force his retirement about six years ago.

He was a member of the ODD Fellows and a member of the First Baptist Church of which he was a deacon.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hortense Desporte Taylor, and two sons, Harry James of Mobile and Raymond F. of Moss Point; and five daughters, Mrs. Virgie Davis, Mrs Beverly McLeod and Mrs. Olga Louise Colle, all of Pascagoula and Mrs. Frances Battiste and Mrs Violet Mofatt, both of Moss Point.

He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Frances Davis of Pascagoula and Mrs. Lottie Walker of Fontainebleau, and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from the Fails Funeral Chapel and the First Baptist Church of Moss Point with the Rev John F. Brock, pastor of the church officiating.
Interment was in the Machpelah Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Edward A. Khayat, Dr. J. F. Colley, Jack Buzzard, Albert Taylor, Fred Taylor and A. M. pelham.
Fails Funeral Service was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
