Virgie Irene Davis, 89, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014. Mrs. Davis was a retired secretary from both Singing River Hospital and the County Board of Supervisors. She was an active member of Women on a Mission at First Baptist Church, Pascagoula, MS. She was a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitfield H. Davis, sisters, Violet Moffatt, Olga Colle, Francis Baptiste and Beverly McLeod, brothers, James Taylor and Tubby Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Glen F. (Judy) Davis of Atmore, AL, Terry G. (Judy) Davis of Pascagoula, MS, Joy Ann Davis of Clearwater, FL, Tommy R. (Deborah) Davis of Vancleave, MS and Davy A. (Pamela) Davis of Pascagoula, MS, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, several special friends and many other friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa-Moss Point, MS. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa-Moss Point, MS with Bro. Dennis Ray Smith officiating. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS. Serving as pallbearers will be Whit Davis, Beau Hatfield, Joe Brennan, John Iko, Brian Broun and Gino Welford. Honorary pallbearers will be Kris Davis and Chris Fondren.
