Spanish Fork - Ray Mower, 79, 66 E. 3rd N., Spanish Fork, died Saturday at a local hospital of a heart condition.

He was born Nov. 8, 1887, in Fairview, Sanpete County, the son of Henry and Ellen Kelsey Mower.

He married Malissa Ames, April 17, 1907.

She died May 16, 1911.

He later received his endowments in the Manti LDS Temple.

He then married Florence Spens, Feb. 10, 1914.

They were later divorced.

He received his early education in the Fairview schools.

Mr. Mower worked in coal mines throughout Carbon County.

After his marriage he made his first home in Clear Creek, Carbon County and moved later to fairview where Mrs. Mower died.

He maintained his home there until 1937 when he moved to Spanish Fork and worked in the sheep business.

He later worked during the construction of Geneva Steel Plant.

He retired in 1957.

His hobby was dancing.

Survivors include five sons, R. Elmer Mower, Spring Lake; T. Lafe Mower, Compton, Cal.; Lawrence Mower, Payson; Don Mower of Worland, Wyo., and McLennon Mower of Jacksonville, Fla; Six daughters, Mrs. John R. (Ellen) Banks, Spanish Fork; Mrs. J.D. (Florence) Hanks, Salt Lake City; Mrs. George (Naomi) Trujillo, Dragerton; Mrs. Robert L. (Belle) Prince of Ogden: Lois K. Mower of Fairview, and Mrs. Wallace (Nora) Llewelyn of Spring Glen, Carbon County; 46 grand-children and 32 great-grandchildren; one brother, Heber Mower of Fairview; three sisters, Mrs. Geogrge H.(Orba) Shelley of Provo; Mrs. William J.(Mae) Harris of Sacramento, Cal., and Mrs. Charles (Verda) Shepard of Sacramento, Cal.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m at the Fairview North Ward, With Bishop Lawrence Larsen officiating.

Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Springville, 525 E. 4th S., Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the church in Fairview, Wednesday morning one hour prior to services.
