Heber's obituary, published in the Deseret News newspaper:

Heber Lavern Mower, 90, died Tuesday, May 8, 1984, at a Salt Lake City hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 7, 1894 in Fairview, Sanpete County, Utah to Henry and Sarah Jane Brady Mower. He married Ethel Louisa Stewart in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Oct. 24, 1917. She died Sept. 7, 1975. He married Odessa Turpin Young on Aug. 26, 1978.

He was a lifelong farmer and rancher in Fairview. He served an LDS Mission to the Southern States from 1914-1917. He served in many church positions including bishoprics, bishop, stake high council, temple ordinance worker. He was serving as patriarch of the Mt. Pleasant Stake at the time of his death, a position he had held since 1961.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and two daughters; Marvin (Elaine), Mrs. Don (Ila) Larsen, Mrs. Glen (Cleo) Spencer, Royal (Marie), Morris (Annetta), and Glade (Virginia); 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mahalia Harris, Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Orba Shelley, Provo.

Services will be Saturday at noon at the Fairview South Ward. Friends may call Friday, 7-9 p.m., at the Ursenbach Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant, or at the church, Saturday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview City Cemetery.
