Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Murphy, 83, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel with the Rev. W. W. Luster officiating. Burial followed in the Fielder Cemetery.

Mrs. Murphy, of Rt. 6, died at her residence Monday afternoon. She was born on October 8, 1883, in Many, Louisiana and had resided here for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

* Daughters: Mrs. Donnie McClure, Mrs. Hubert H. Smith, and Mrs. J. B. Peavy, all of Lufkin and Mrs. Henry Marino of Beaumont
* Sons: C. M. Murphy, Allen Murphy and D. L. Murphy, all of Lufkin and O. B. Murphy and A. T. Murphy, both of Beaumont.
* Brother: Roy Jackson of Lufkin
* Sisters: Mrs. Bertha Stacy of Humble and Mrs. Ora McKlem of Sebastapol, California
