MORONI--Wanda Averett Curtis, died March 17, 1996 at the home of a daughter in West Valley City, Utah.
Born September 18, 1906 at Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Arthur and Louisa Jane Phipps Averett. Married Newell Curtis on May 28, 1925 in Salt Lake City; the marriage was later solemnized at the Manti LDS Temple, April 17, 1953. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Active LDS member, served in various positions in the church. A wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was always an inspiration and example to all her family. We loved her very much and will miss her sweet spirit.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elmo (LaNae) Anderson, West Valley City; Mrs. Grant (Colleen) Anderson, Bountiful; Mrs. Morris (JoAnn) Lewellyn, West Valley City; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Dale P. Averett, Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 20, 11:00 a.m. at the Moroni Stake Center. Friends may call Tuesday evening 6 - 8 p.m. at the Ursenbach Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, and Wednesday at the Moroni Stake Center from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery, under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home.
