JoAnn Curtis Lewellyn passed away on December 14, 2017 surrounded by her family.

She was born May 31, 1932 in Moroni to Newell Benjamin Curtis and Wanda Marie Averett. JoAnn graduated from Moroni High School, where she was a cheerleader.

She married Morris Anderson Lewellyn on January 18, 1951 in Moroni. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they had four children: Mickie (Jack) Harman, Marsha (Mark) Privett, Jan (Ed) Keyes, and John (Vicki) Lewellyn.

JoAnn worked for many years as a secretary for Rubber Engineering and Grip Rubber. She served faithfully in her church callings, from Primary Teacher to Relief Society President, loving each one. She and her husband enjoyed doing genealogy and temple work for family. Later, they would serve together as ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple.

JoAnn enjoyed singing, playing piano, writing poetry, and spending time with her family, where she was always an example of Christ-like love and service to anyone in need. She was a faithful friend to those she grew up with and always kept in touch, and cherished her association with them.

She is survived by her children; sister, Collen (Grant) Anderson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister and brothers-in-law, LaNae and Elmo Anderson, Mont and Shirley Moss, and Jack and Elaine Lewellyn; and great-grandson, Aabel Herrera.

The family wishes to thank Cornerstone Home Health, especially Gina, for the kind, loving care they provided for our mother; Riverway administration; and Jordan Valley Medical Center staff for their kindness and care.
