Colleen Louise Curtis Anderson, a long-time resident of Bountiful, Utah died Monday April 22, 2019 at her home after a battle with colon cancer.
She was born on November 3, 1929 in Moroni Utah to loving parents, Newell Benjamin Curtis, and Wanda Averett Curtis. She was the middle child of two sisters, LaNae Curtis Anderson and JoAnn Curtis Lewellyn. All who have preceded her in death.
Colleen received an associate degree from Snow College in business and later in life took college courses in business and accounting at the University of Utah. She has worked as a bookkeeper, bank teller, and for over forty years has worked alongside her husband, Grant, in his business as an accountant and office manager. She loved working and considered their small business a labor of love. Throughout their lives, they sacrificed, served, and demonstrated their love to each other and to their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She loved music and reading. She was an amazing cook and often hosted family dinner parties and holiday meals with extended family. She had enormous love and concern for her family, neighbors, and friends. She belonged to a book club for many years, and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and often hosted these meetings in her home.
She was married to Grant Dale Anderson on June 1, 1950 and three years later they were married in the Manti Temple.
She is survived by her husband, Grant Dale Anderson, three children, Leesa Anderson Thompson (Kip Thompson), Patti Anderson Butterfield (John Butterfield), Matthew Grant Anderson, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at the Val Verda 6th Ward Chapel, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM. Services will begin at 1:00 PM, and interment services at 3:00 PM at the Bountiful Cemetery.
