William married first Julian S. Manhartz, 13 Feb 1859, in Liberty Twp., Adams, PA. They had 15 children (all listed below). Shortly before 1870 the family moved to Thurmont, MD where he farmed most of the rest of his life.

William married second Christina Manhartz (his first wife Julian's sister), widow of Adam Eyler, about 1911. They had no children.

Obituary (Frederick Post, 16 Oct 1918, pg. 5):
William Flohr, aged 78 years, 8 months, and seven days, died Sunday at 7:20 a. m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Flohr, near Thurmont, of paralysis. He was a member of the German Baptist church. Funeral Wednesday morning at 9:30, services being at the house. Burial in Thurmont. The widow and a number of children survive. Wilhide and Creager are the funeral directors.
