Married Mattie C. ?? *Received a pension from the State of Texas for service in the Confederate Army #47479. *From the records of Lamar #258 United Daughters of the Confederacy: Awarded Cross of Military Service on Jan. 4, 1917. He served as Private, Co. C, 9th Georgia Volunteers. He had two daughters, Beulah, born 6 Feb. 1874, in Biardstown, Lamar County, TX, who married a Parker, and Mattie, born 21 Nov. 1883, in Biardstown, who married a Sims and lived at Atlas, Rt. 1. William K. Griffin belonged to the Albert Sidney Johnston Camp, No. 70, in Paris, TX. *THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Friday, September 11, 1931, p.10: 'W. K. Griffin, 86 years old, retired farmer and Confederate veteran, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. O. Parker, on the Jefferson road, at 11 o'clock Thursday night after an illness of three weeks. Funeral arrangements had not been completed Thursday night but burial will be at Antioch cemetery. Born in Georgia in 1845, Mr. Griffin as a youth enlisted and served in the Georgia Volunteer Infantry. In 1867 he moved to Texas and settled near Biardstown where he lived until recent years when he moved to the home of his daughter. Surviving are one son, Ivy Griffin of Lubbock; two daughters, Mrs. Parker of Paris and Mrs. L. E. Sims of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.' *Index to TX Death Records 1903-1940 (microfilm): 'W. K.
