Mom had several names, but she was 'Mom' to me until she died at age 89. Mom and Dad were married for 29 years when he died of cancer in 1968. Several years later, having moved to TX, Mom married Larry Williams; they were also married for 29 years before he died.

The best way to describe Mom is that she was a lady. Although she was raised on a farm, she had a gentile way about her. She followed dad to Alaska, and on all his adventures. She went to California so her younger sister could. The sister returned home, but Mom stayed and met my dad.

She liked to have fun and was climbing around Tiger Stadium with my aunt, both of them just a few months short of deliverying their first babies. She would have a baseball game on TV with a football game on the radio, or vice versa. We sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" at her funeral. I couldn't have ask for an better Mom. And what a cook!
