The 1880 US Census of Leeds, Jefferson Co., AL enumerated 41 Y/O William Robert Abercrombie and his 41 Y/O wife, Martha Adline (Robertson) Abercrombie. William Robert Abercrombie's occupation was dry goods merchant. Among the children recorded in the household was their 18 Y/O son, William Fendol Abercrombie, who was also recorded as a dry goods merchant, so he was obviously working in his father's dry goods store in Leeds, AL but he died in 1886 shortly after his father's 1885 death. Also in the household was their 16 Y/O son, James Isaac Abercrombie, who in 1880 was working as a farmer but before 1900, probably soon after the 1886 death of his older brother, William Fendol Abercrombie, became employed in the family dry goods store in Leeds, AL. Also living in the household in 1880 were their other children: 14 Y/O Mary Cornelia Abercrombie; 9 Y/O Martha Elizabeth Abercrombie, and 6 Y/O Andrew Jackson Abercrombie.

Martha Elizabeth Abercrombie (14 Y/O) married Pitt Saunders Milner (23 Y/O) on 14 Jul 1885 in Alabama.

Martha Elizabeth (Abercrombie) Milner (18 Y/O) died on 07 Aug 1888 and her widowed husband, Pitt Saunders Milner (30 Y/O), married Lillie Bell Smith (21 Y/O) on 07 Sep 1892 at Elyton, Jefferson Co., AL.

The 1900 US Census of Precinct 9, Jefferson Co., AL enumerated the household of 34 Y/O Pitt Saunders Milner, Sr., a civil engineer born March 1866 in AL, and his 27 [sic] Y/O 2nd wife, Lillie Bell (Smith) Milner, born April 1871 in AL. This census confirms their marriage date was 07 Sep 1892. Also living in the household were their children: 6 Y/O (b. September 1893) Eunice Bell Milner and 2 Y/O (b. June 1898) Pitt Saunders Milner, Jr. NOTE: The tombstone of Martha Elizabeth (Abercrombie) Milner is difficult to read on photos. There are Ancestry.com records wrongly claiming that Martha Elizabeth (Abercrombie) Milner's death date was 07 Aug 1898, which would make the two children recorded in the above 1900 census hers. The 1935 extant Montana marriage record of Pitt Saunders Milner, Jr. to Margaret Alldren records his parents as Pitt Saunders Milner, Sr. and Lillie Bell (Smith) Milner. The FAG memorial dedicated to Pitt Saunders Milner, Sr. indicates he was a "Rev." but I cannot find any record indicating he was. Also, I cannot find any evidence that Martha Elizabeth (Abercrombie) Milner had any children.
