She was the daugher of Solomon (Saul) and Eliza Essick Cassat. She grew up on the Taneytown Road, south of Gettysburg. During the Battle of Gettysburg her home was directly behind the Union lines. The family stayed in their cellar for two days. Their small farm suffered extensive damage. She married Robert G. Little in 1881. In later years she worked as a tobacco stripper in their home in Hanover. They had four children that survived to adulthood: Lillie, Bertha, Iva and William. She spent the last three months of her life in the York County Home. [Note: her birth date is questionable.]
