BROCTON — Shelby Abner Wood, 80, of Brocton died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday (Aug.
28, 1996) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sutton and Son Funeral Home in Paris.
Burial will be in Embarrass Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today
with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born May 28, 1916, in Redmon, the son of Abner and Gertrude Van Sickle
Wood. He married Lola McDaniel in 1936; she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Rodney Wood of Brocton and Russell Wood of
Redmon; two brothers, Lloyd Wood of Paris and Robert Wood of Redmon; six
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Wood was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Redmon Christian Church,
the Edgar Masonic Lodge 829 of Hume, the Danville Consistory, Ansar Shrine and
the Edgar County Shrine Club.

Memorials may be made to the Redmon Christian Church.
