He was born Sept. 12, 1924 in Redmon to Abner and Gertrude VanSickle Wood. He married Doris Maude Arrasmith on Jan. 31, 1946 at Terre Haute, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 2003.
Survivors include a son, John Wood and his wife Linda of Paris; a brother, Lloyd “Bill” Wood of San Antonio; one granddaughter; four great- granddaughters, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Embarras Cemetery near Redmon. Burial will follow. The Templeton Funeral Home of Paris is in charge of the arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Templeton Funeral Home, 600 E. Court St., Paris, IL 61944.
