He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Carrington and Jessie Polselli, two brothers, Shelby Wood and Robert “Bob” Wood.
He served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
Lloyd was a long time member of Redmon Christian Church and was also a member of Lake Ridge Christian Church and First Christian Church of Paris. He was active in Masonry and was past Worthy Patron of Paris Chapter 7, Order of Eastern Star, past Commander of Palestine Commandery #27 and a member of Prairie Lodge # 77, American Legion Post 211 and Edgar County Shrine Club. He had been a member of The Edgar County Farm Bureau Board and was President of the Shiloh School Board at the inception of Shiloh School.
