Mother of county lady dies today

Mrs. Charlotte Ruth Johns, 86, of Van Wert, O., mother of Mrs. Anthony (Frances) Bonfiglio of route 5, Anthony Wayne Meadows, died at 4:20 a.m. (Ohio time) today at her home.

Born in Willshire township on April 2, 1882, she was the daughter of Christian and Louisa Handwork-Voltz, and was married on Sept. 1, 1906, to William T. Johns, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are five children, Dallas of Van Wert; Mrs. Anthony (Frances) Bonfiglio of route 5, Anthony Wayne Meadows; Mrs. Vernon (Donna) Caffee of near Chattanooga, O.; Mrs. Maxine Tannehill of Van Wert; Miss Louise Johns of Van Wert; two brothers, Ernest and Rudolph Voltz, both of Willshire township; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. One daughter preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. (Ohio time) Saturday at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, with burial in the Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the Cowan & Son funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
