Born Feb. 6, 1874, in Stark County, he was the son of Christian and Louise Hanwerck Voltz. His wife, the former Minna S. Hoffman, died Dec. 23, 1963.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Selma LaPaugh of 133 N. Collett, Mrs. Dwight E. (Alma) Stotts of 227 N. Jameson, Mrs. Hazel Sowards of 525 S. West, and Mrs. Grover (Eva) Schaadt of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Rudolph and Ernest of Van Wert County; a sister, Charlotta Johns of Van Wert; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
He had been proprietor of Voltz Grocery at 787 Broadway since 1923. He was a member of Lodge 585, F&AM.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Siferd Main Street Chapel, Rev. Richard Vitz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the residence of 787 Broadway after 6 tonight until 11 a.m. Monday, when the body will be removed to the funeral home for services.
